– THE ROLE –
The postholder will work with the Primary Investigator and Co-investigators to deliver the research outcomes on a project funded by Sight Research UK, which aims to optimise a novel vision test for glaucoma. They will conduct research in the field of optometry/clinical visual psychophysics on human participants, contribute to data analysis, and assist with the dissemination of findings leading to high-quality scientific publications. They will also contribute to the overall research work and outputs of the Centre for Optometry and Vision Science (COVS).
We may create a 12-month waiting list for the same or similar roles within the Department/Faculty. The University reserves the right to extend the waiting list across the University if required for certain posts.
– ABOUT YOU –
The postholder will be required to have:
– A degree in a related subject area (e.g. Optometry, Healthcare, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences).

Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality, independent and collaborative research on the intersection of AI and digital technologies, international law, and sustainability.
- Publish at least one scholarly article in a reputable journal during the period of appointment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of CIL’s research agenda on AI, technology and sustainability.
- Assist in preparation of research proposals related to AI governance, climate change and sustainability.

The Department of Engineering in the College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences at Brunel University of London is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research team led by Professor Hamid Bahai. The post will contribute to research on multi-scale and multi-physics simulation of CO2 storage in geological formations and forms part of a broader research programme aimed at developing advanced technological solutions for the energy sector. The programme focuses on computational fluid–solid interaction, process synthesis and design, numerical modelling, and optimisation, with the potential to play a transformative role in low-carbon energy systems over the coming decades.
The successful candidate will be expected to further develop an existing computational code for CO2 storage in deep saline aquifers. The work will be primarily centred on the development of an Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) formulation for accurate and efficient modelling of pressure fields resulting from CO2 injection, using a vertically averaged multiphase flow formulation. This will be coupled with a Streamline Upwind Petrov–Galerkin / Finite Element / Finite Difference Method (SUPG–FEM–FDM) framework to model the evolution of the average saturation of each phase within the aquifer.
Applicants should hold a PhD in computational geomechanics or a closely related discipline and have a strong background in numerical simulation of solids and fluids, together with experience in multi-scale and multi-physics modelling. The post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for four months, commencing on 1 March 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter by mutual agreement. The salary will be at the appropriate grade per annum, inclusive of London allowance.

This focus of this role is to lead and develop the established research activities across the Community Health and Wellbeing Dimension within the Queen’s Communities and Place (QCAP) initiative, ensuring successful delivery of the QCAP research, evaluation, and knowledge exchange programme. This role will focus on developing and implementing comm unity-centric research methodologies that contribute to the implementation of a co-produced health and wellbeing strategy within the community. About the person:
- With a proven track record in securing and managing significant research funding, and a publication record in health, wellbeing and community research the successful candidate will demonstrate a high academic standing with a growing reputation in research within community health and wellbeing which will enable them to lead the research activities across the Community Health and Wellbeing Dimension within QCAP. They will lead on the development of community-centric research models and design and implement research methodologies that support community participation in health and wellbeing initiatives particularly within disadvantaged communities.

The Entrepreneurship Foundation in Lund announces a three-year postdoc stipend for entrepreneurship studies at the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management.
The candidate will work and contribute within the research area “Monetary Entrepreneurship”, coordinated by Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE), Department of Business Administration, Lund University.
The postdoc project aims to advance both theoretical and empirical understanding at the intersection of monetary entrepreneurship, economic sociology, and organization studies by investigating how cities pioneer sustainable and resilient economies through digital monetary innovations. The research will explore how municipalities, in collaboration with local businesses, NGOs, and citizen groups, engage in monetary entrepreneurship; designing, governing, and scaling Digital Municipal Currencies (DMCs) to address global challenges like climate change, inequality, and biodiversity loss at the local level. Empirically, the project will focus on the tensions and adaptive strategies of municipalities, local businesses, NGOs, and citizens around these monetary innovations. It will be up to the individual candidate to give specific form to the research project based on theoretical and empirical interests. The research project is connected to ongoing research at SKJCE. The post-doctoral fellow will work on the project together with Professor Ester Barinaga.
We seek a candidate interested in developing this line of research with a deep interest and specialization in Complementary Currencies and Monetary Entrepreneurship. The position is open to candidates who prefer qualitative as well as mixed-methods research.
Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE) is an active and internationally recognized high-class entrepreneurship education and research arena. SKJCE conducts research in areas such as entrepreneurial learning and education, academic entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship ownership and finance, social entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurship industry, and immigrant entrepreneurship.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20 % of working hours. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject area, considering both theoretical and empirical knowledge as well as methodological competencies. The main assessment criteria are as follows:
- A completed PhD within the subject of the position or a related topic, completed no more than three years before the last application date. Under particular circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Good ability to develop and conduct high-quality research

TERMS OF THE POSTDOC STIPEND
The researcher is funded through a full-time postdoc stipend for three years. The stipend includes SEK 350.000 per year and covers the cost of living (SEK 335.000) and insurance (SEK 15.000 SEK). The research fellow will be placed at Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Department of Business Administration, Lund University.
