Research Fellow (Community Health and Wellbeing) at Queen’s University Belfast – (Jobs/Scholarships)


The post holder will provide research support to the Community Health and Wellbeing dimension of QCAP. Queen’s Communities and Place was established in 2021 to foster stronger partnerships between communities and academia. Its primary goal is to address local challenges arising from poverty and deprivation through evidence-based approaches. Working closely with community partners across Belfast, QCAP delivers a co-produced programme of research that serves two key purposes. It provides an evidence foundation to advance the institution’s civic mission while creating meaningful impact where it’s needed most in the community.

Essential Criteria:

  • An upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) or a Masters degree in a social science discipline.
  • Have or be about to obtain a PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Significant relevant research experience working on a project that relates to health and social care research
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Good understanding of the key issues and challenges associated with maximising impact for research studies
  • Experience of communicating research to lay audiences
  • Evidence of a high standard of report writing skills
  • Ability to build contacts and participate in internal and external networks.

This post is available for 12 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
