This role sits within the North West Centre for Advanced Manufacturing (NWCAM2) project, based at ATU’s Galway City Campus. The Senior Research Fellow will work alongside two PhD students in the collaborative robotics stream, with the aim of developing robotic systems that can be deployed, programmed, and validated in industrial settings by non-expert users.
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in Robotics / Computer Science or a related field or exceptionally, equivalent* equivalent research and innovation experience in an industrial setting – 4 years fulltime research after primary degree
- 4 years demonstrable experience in robot manipulator hardware/software integration and programming.
- Experience in technology transfer and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated motivation, interest and knowledge of the project, university and research lab.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Active in robotics research demonstrated through publications and patents.
